Infant Care Center Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment, and Supplies — Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. The changing tables in the infant classrooms (12, 14) were not placed within arm’s reach of a sink.

Outdoor Activity Space — Based on observation and interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. There were multiple uneven (broken) concrete surfaces on the playground, presenting tripping hazard.

Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision — LPA Jimenez found that during a cutting activity, classroom cutting activity the children were using sharp metal scissors and while this cutting activity facility staff moved from their assigned areas without coordinating visual supervision for a lapse of seconds and did not witness the incident resulting in a day care child sustaining an injury and staff allowed children the use of sharp metal scissors. This poses a potential health and safety risk to children in care.
