Terms of Use & Disclaimer
Effective August 9, 2026 · GoldiCheck
GoldiCheck is operated by GoldiCheck Labs LLC ("we", "us"). By using this site you agree to these terms.
They are written in plain English on purpose — the short version: we republish official state inspection records as accurately as we can, we tell you exactly where every fact comes from, and you should verify anything important against the official source before acting on it.
1. What this site is
GoldiCheck republishes and summarizes daycare licensing and inspection records published by state licensing agencies on their official transparency sites (the full list of sources is on How it works). Safety tiers (Clean / Watch / Serious) are our opinion, computed by a disclosed method (see How it works) from the facts in those records. The underlying record and a link to the official source are shown on every facility page.
2. Accuracy and timeliness
We refresh data periodically; every facility page shows a "last updated" date. Three limits are inherent to the sources: a newly posted inspection can be incomplete — agencies may publish a visit first and add its detailed findings over the following weeks or months; agencies can take months to record that a violation was corrected (so an "open" finding may already be fixed); and automated parsing of official documents can occasionally introduce errors. If something looks wrong, tell us (Section 6) and we will correct it promptly. The official state record controls whenever it differs from ours.
3. No warranty; not advice
The site is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. GoldiCheck is a transparency tool — it is not legal, medical, or childcare advice, and it is not a certification, endorsement, or inspection of any facility. A "Clean" tier means the state record shows no serious findings; it does not mean we have visited or evaluated the facility. Always visit in person and review the official record before making decisions.
4. Acceptable use
This site is for parents and caregivers evaluating or engaging with licensed childcare facilities. GoldiCheck is not a consumer reporting agency, and you may not use it to make decisions about an individual — employment, hiring (including nannies or babysitters), housing, credit, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Don't scrape the site at volumes that burden it, and don't misrepresent what the records say.
5. Limitation of liability
The site is provided as-is, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, GoldiCheck Labs LLC and its members, officers, and agents are not liable for any damages arising from use of this site or reliance on its content — including decisions made about childcare.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages under any circumstances. Where liability cannot be excluded entirely, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us (which, because GoldiCheck is free, is normally nothing) or US $100.
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it — and to tell us what went wrong so we can fix it. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
6. Corrections
Facility operators and parents alike: if any fact shown here does not match the official state record, email reports@goldicheck.com with the facility name and provider number. We take accuracy seriously — verified errors are corrected promptly, and the "Report an error" link in the footer of every page starts the email for you.
7. Governing law & changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts located in Illinois. We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. GoldiCheck™ and the padlock-check mark are trademarks of GoldiCheck Labs LLC; the underlying government records are public information.
