(i) Prior to employment or initial presence in the child care center, all employees and volunteers subject to a criminal record review shall: (1) Obtain a California clearance or a criminal record exemption as required by law or Department regulations... This requirement was not met when Director Baumer's uncleared adult spouse was present in the facility during the month of April 2024. This poses/posed a health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision — LPA observing a child alone in the bathroom (twice) and a child wondering away from the group to the parents entrance, both chil dren lacked visual observation from Director Baumer.
