Family home — in-ground pool drowning prevention requirements — LPA Hernandez’s observed a key lockable device that was not at least 60 inches above the ground. LPA also observed a vertical clearance of more than 2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the safe closing gate door. This poses a potential risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.
Sign In and Sign Out — Based on observation, interview, and record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA and Director both reviewed children's sign in sheets. Upon reviewing 5 preschool children and 1 infant child were not signed in which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision — interviews. Interviews revealed that staff #1 was turned away tending to another child and was approximately 30-35 ft away from child #1 who was on the play structure when he/she obtained an injury. No staff was near the play structure supervising children.This poses a potential risk to the health, safety and personal rights risk to the children in care.
Teacher-Child Ratio — staff interview and record review. Interviws and record review revealed that on 11/2/2023 that staff #1 was supervising 17 children in the play yard alone. This poses a potential risk to the health, safety and or personal rights of children in care.
