Family home — home free of safety hazards — Based on interview, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
When a child shows signs of illness he/she shall be separated from other children and the nature of the illness determined. If it is a communicable disease he/she shall be separated from other children until the infectious stage is over. This requirement is not met as evidenced: LPA learned that at least five children including Licensee's two related children were infected with chicken pox. This is a potential risk to the health and safety of children in care.
The licensee and other personnel as specified shall complete training on preventive health practices, including pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866. This requirement is not met as evidenced: Licensee admitted to leaving her adult daughter Yeva with children during her absence. Yeva does not have EMSA certified CPR and First Aid certification as required. This is a potential risk to the health and safety of children in care.
Prior to admission to a family day care home, children shall be immunized against diseases as required by the California Code of Regulations, Title 17, beginning with Section 6000. This requirement is not met as evidenced: Two children in care today do not have evidence of immunization record.
