Infant Care Teacher Qualifications and Duties — Based on interview & record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that during the facility tour, there were 2 staff members in an infant classroom with 8 infants present and 1 of them was identified as an Infant Teacher. Upon reviewing the file, they did not have 3 postsecondary semester units related to the care of infants, from an accredited or approved college or university. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision for Infants — Based on interview & record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that 5 out of 5 infant files (Child 1 [C1], Child 2 [C2], Child 3 [C3], Child 4 [C4], Child 5 [C5]) reviewed did not have the initials of the person who conducted each 15 minute safe sleep check. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
