Written directives for drinking water lead testing — Based on documentation reviewed, observations made, and interviews conducted, it was determined that one sink in Classroom #1 had a lead level of 9.3 parts per billion (ppb), which exceeds the Action Level Exceedance (ALE) threshold.Although the sink is not used for direct drinking, it is connected to a drinking fixture. The sink is located within the classroom and now has a sign posted indicating “Do Not Use for Drinking” until it is retested and cleared.This condition poses a potential health, safety, and personal rights risk to children in care.
101223 Personal Rights-(a)The licensee shall ensure that each child is accorded the following personal rights: (3)To be free from corporal or unusual punishment…or other actions of a punitive nature including but not limited to: interference with functions of daily living including … or aids to physical functioning. This requirement was not met by: Based on interviews, staff members were witnessed placing a child in a high chair to prevent biting to other children.
